Israel’s protection minister on Friday rejected a diplomatic effort by France geared toward ending months of cross-border strikes between Israel and Hezbollah which have been intensifying this week and elevating fears of a full-blown struggle.

America, France and different mediators have hunted for months to discover a strategy to cease the tit-for-tat strikes between Israel and Hezbollah, a robust militia and political faction backed by Iran, which has been launching rockets and drones into northern Israel from southern Lebanon.
